This guy can draw and draw good. I thought I wasn’t aware of this guy when I got given the job of photographing him at his Liverpool based studio, however, you will of undoubtedly seen something of his at some point in your life if you’ve ever picked up a newspaper. Phil has produced illustrations for numerous worldwide publications. I’m particularly fond of his darker more macabre style stuff. Go check out his website if you get a moment, its brilliant. It’s worth noting too that he’s got his head screwed on and he features as a columnist and political debator in a few publications.

The great thing I love about doing shoots like this is that we get to hang out. We ended up chatting over a cuppa, discussing the highs and lows of working freelance, the media, the future of newspapers etc. Really puts me and the person I’m shooting at rest and we end up getting better shots because of it.
