West Kirby Lantern Parade

Completly forgot that this was happening and only realised last minute, community lead in my town, a parade of lanterns made by local groups. ‘Friends of Coronation Gardens’ I believe organised the event which was a parade down the promenade to a bonfire at the end lead by the Wirral Samba Band. I LOVE samba bands they really add a great festive/carnival vibe to events.

I can see this event getting more and more publicity and getting bigger and bigger each year. Great for kids and adults alike and fills that gap between November 5th and Christmas.

I would have liked to come to this. Didn’t know anything about it. More publicity next year please!

Gutted. This was only down the road from where I live and I didn’t even know it was on. Would’ve loved to see this. Love the shots by the way.

Thanks, Matt, for the plug for Friends of Coronation Gardens. I have to own up, though – the event was run by Marko Muller of FROG. FCG were involved in marshalling and,of course,we wore our hi-viz FCG jackets. Great pictures, especially as you had little time to prepare.
