Jack Prince

Jack Prince is a drummer, he commissioned me to shoot his new portfolio of photographs that get distributed in his press kit and sent out to production companies, record labels and fellow musicians in need of session drumming. Shot in a few different locations in Liverpool, had a good laugh, reminiscing about the tour I joined him on last year.

Been as busy January, can’t believe its almost gone though! How quick was that!? All the accounting is done and the tax returns and what not. January is a good time to evaluate where I am and where I’m going. So I’ve sat down with various folk and thrashed ideas round for this year, things I want to do and things I want to try. It’s amounted to literally piles of paper with scribblings, diagrams and coffee stains all over them. Im made up that I’ve finally done it, I keep things in my head too long and ideas get tainted and twisted over time, so writing everything down has been amazingly theraputic and hopefully will improve my generally productivity this year. I’ll be relaunching http://recordreveal.com shortly, it never truely stood on its feet due to time restraints but now we’re nearly there with a redesign and a better representation of the personal photography I get asked to do. Pretty excited about it, already booked a good number of weddings for this year and some for 2011 too. They’ll be taking me abroad too, with Italy and Ireland being countries I’ve never been too, let alone photographed in.

This site is getting ANOTHER facelift too, the portfolio needs updating I did a lot of work that I’m really proud of in the latter half of last year and none of its up yet. So thats priority, the backend of this site is really good now, I offer clients damn fine and secure methods of receiving their images. It’s taken time and lots of tinkering and tweaking but its a brilliant part of my over all workflow. The final bit is a new print shop, still in the pipeline, it’ll mainly feature some of my landscapes mainly taken locally, but some a bit further afield.

Theres a whole year planned before me, realistic and achievable. Can’t wait to tell you about the rest.

Firstly, happy new year everybody! I’ve been a bit slack on the blog updating, hard to find time at the moment, particularly with the baby becoming more and more feisty! Had a great Christmas, Erins first, so that bit more special. First job of the year was on the 3rd, so straight back into it, really been excited about getting back into work after the Christmas break. Not to say I didn’t take any photographs over Christmas, because I did (check out the photoblog!) but new year, new plans, new directions, its exciting. I’ve been bouncing ideas around with my partner Sarah and we’re sure this year is going to be a blast. The first job was working with a long time friend, stylist Kerryn Grady. She had setup a test shoot in the few days up north she had away from her job at Glamour in London, so we managed to get two brilliant people in model Camille O’Neil and make-up and hair stylist Wai-Sheim Li to come over and shoot the story in West Kirby, not only was it in West Kirby but it was shot in my old flat of all places.

Extremely happy to have finally got to work with Kerryn, shes a brilliant stylist, heartily recommend her and both Camille and Wai. You can see the full gallery here.
